I've attempted 8+ different projects and businesses over the past years. By businesses, I mean possible "get-rich-quick" schemes I thought were the path to the life I wanted. I knew I at least had the entrepreneurial spirit. On top of that, I’ve learned so much knowledge and ways to solve problems. Honestly, the ventures I pursued weren't bad business models, I just wanted to pursue them for the wrong reasons.
This is one of those times where I feel I have found success in a business model I'm passionate about AND consistent about. The feedback I receive from my audience makes me feel way better than any amount would. Getting money is a great feeling too but it’s quantifiable. This feeling is priceless.
I started this newsletter about personal development and spreading knowledge about things I know using a technique where the content that I curate is laced up with spices of personal experiences and it incorporate relatable personal stories.
After doing this newsletter for about 6 months now, I'd like to share some great things I've learned about consistency.
Passion Means the Most
Consistency means nothing without willpower and intention. It isn't about going through the motions just to go through the motions. Everything that you do around your goals has to have a meaning. Actively have INTENT in your actions. You must be completely inspired by your own drive.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Being consistent and intentional isn't about getting rewarded instantly. Being consistent means going through a period of time where nothing is happening. We do that because one day, it will click, your business will blow up in revenue, you will hit your goals, and you will hit that next milestone. But you won't win if you quit every time something gets hard. It takes sacrifice.
It doesn't have to be life changing. Many people believe you have to work 12 hours a day to start your business or you have to become a robot and have no social life. Yes, you have to make sacrifices, yes you have to work hard, and yes your business may get to the point where you need to hire people so you have free time (but that's a good problem) . What I'm saying is consistency and intention are a hell of a lot more powerful in 2 hours/day than 12 hours of uninspired half-done work that's extremely inconsistent.
This is applicable to school as well , the small hours of reading and studying goes a long way.. your relationship, the little time you spend together never goes unnoticed, the 75 seconds calls if consistent can make up hours of love.
That friendship you are having with your bestie, your family, very important to give it a piece of yourself consistently.
